In our Kitchen Chemistry corner we show you how to carry out your own experiments, and we explain the science behind them.
Kitchen Chemistry
As well as the experiments to the right, we’ve shot some footage of Sue McGrath carrying out four wonderful experiments with the help of some young assistants.
Your kitchen cupboard contains a lot of interesting chemicals, and we can use the chemical materials in these ordinary everyday products and foodstuffs to create interesting experiments.
Children: check with a grown-up before you begin any of these experiments. They are generally not too dangerous, but they can be very messy! Be especially careful with sharp items or hot water.
