yTeach.ie is designed to aid teachers in delivering the Irish curriculum for maths and science. It is easy to navigate for teachers who are not familiar with technology but allows creativity for those who are. Teachers can combine their favourite lesson materials such as PowerPoint presentations, Excel and Word documents and Web addresses with the resources from the site in a playlist or an assignment for students to access at any time. Assignments are accessed on our sister site yLearn.ie and results from the assessment can be instantly accessed by the teacher, showing score, time taken, mistakes made and the exact answers the student gave.
To celebrate Science Week, yTeach are giving free access to everyone who has registered on the site from the 5th to 14th of November. During this week, we are running an online competition for students to answer questions on yLearn.ie. There are three categories – Upper Primary, Junior Cert and Leaving Cert – with a prize of €150 worth of yTeach resources for the winner in each category.

Astronomy Ireland Shop is offering every School, Library and Community Group in the country, heavily discounted telescopes with the intent to encourage these groups to set up their own Astronomy Club and encourage children and communities to think about Our Place in Space and start a hobby that will stay with them for many years.
