The Future Of Space Tourism

One of the most popular lectures of the week was the lecture given by Stephen Attenborough from Virgin Galactic, the world’s first space tourism agency. The lecture even featured a few words from Bill Cullen from The Apprentice, one of the five Irish people registered with Richard Branson’s company. Stephen described the evolution of Virgin Galactic and gave an overview of the technology they will be using, in large part due to the engineering skills of Burt Rutan. The upcoming renaissance of space travel was also discussed as the potential benefits of suborbital flights and access for researchers to conduct zero gravity experiment was outlined.
