
Calling all Primary School Antarctic science explorers! Come to the museum and explore the science behind Tom Crean’s adventures in Antarctica. Visit the Tom Crean Polar Room and explore how Tom’s expeditions fundamentally changed our knowledge about Antarctica.
This workshop is most suitable for primary school students (3rd- 6th class). Just for fun, you can even dress up as Tom Crean!
Workshop Highlights:
• Get to know Tom and the scientists on the Terra Nova crew
• Use a modern microscope and learn about “The Worst Journey in the World”
• Handle real fossils that are millions of years old and even make your own
• Make your own anemometer to measure wind speed.
This special event is free for Kerry primary schools. Booking is strictly necessary. Primary School Students (3rd- 6th class) – We can accommodate one class or up to 30 students per workshop, smaller group sizes recommended.
