K-NORE Your River Art Exhibition Opening

K-NORE your River – An Exhibition of Work by Bernadette Kiely Guest Curated by Shannon Carroll

Living and working on the banks of the River Nore, Bernadette Kiely has spent more than two decades painting, drawing, and documenting the river’s shifting balance between water, land, and community. Her practice, rooted in close observation and daily encounters, reflects how the river shapes life — from its quiet surface changes to the drama of floods and their impact on local memory and resilience. Each work captures the pulse of place and the deep interconnection between natural systems and human experience.

Presented within the [K]Nore Your River season — a community-powered celebration of art, science, and storytelling along the River Nore — this exhibition coincides with Science Week 2025. It highlights the shared curiosity that bridges ecology and creativity, reminding us that to know a river is to sense its power, fragility, and connection to all life. Hosted by The Tea Houses in partnership with SEA School Studios & Labs and Kilkenny Arts Office, this exhibition invites viewers to rediscover the river as muse, memory, and living system.
