Discover how to make your own mini garden at the National Botanic Gardens – a fun, family-friendly terrarium workshop.
Create your own tiny world of green at the Pocket Gardens workshops in the National Botanic Gardens! In this hands-on session, you’ll design and build your very own terrarium — a self-contained mini garden you can take home and watch thrive. Guided by an expert, you’ll learn how to layer soil, select plants, and care for your new creation.
🌱 Choose from three workshop sessions throughout the day and create your own beautiful mini garden to take home.
Each workshop is suitable for:
- Adults building on their own, or
- An adult + one child building together
🧑🌾 What’s included
- All materials to build one glass terrarium
- Guidance from our instructors
- Soil, plants, decorations, and care tips
👨👩👧 Important Ticket Info
- Each ticket reserves one terrarium build spot (one set of materials and one workspace).
- You may attend solo or bring one child to share the spot.
- If you want to build more than one terrarium, please reserve multiple tickets.
- Spaces are limited.
🕐 Workshop Times
- Workshop 1 — 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM
- Workshop 2 — 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM
- Workshop 3 — 2:30 PM – 3:30 PM
Please arrive 10 minutes before your session.
