Mind Waves: Science Meets Performance
This Science Week, themed Water: From Molecule to Ocean, students from the Gaiety School of Acting, The National Theatre School of Ireland, bring two journeys to life through theatre, inspired by research at UCD Conway Institute.
The first explores micro- and nanoplastics and cardiovascular health. Tiny plastic particles are found in the environment and are increasingly detected in the human body. UCD researchers are investigating whether they can accumulate in blood-vessel plaques and contribute to heart disease.
The second explores zebrafish, a freshwater fish helping scientists understand human disease, from inherited blindness to eye cancer, and investigate treatments.
Following each performance, audiences can join a Q&A with UCD scientists and the cast.
Two performances. Two journeys. One shared element: water.
Join us at the Gaiety School of Acting on 13th and 14th November for Mind Waves, where science meets theatre and sparks imagination.
