Research Ireland supports sponsorship of flagship Science Week events that can be delivered in large population centres.
Research Ireland offers opportunities for sponsorship to support ambitious, high-profile activities that can serve as cornerstone, flagship events during Science Week. In recent years, these activities have complemented Science Week events and festivals supported through our competitive funding programme, while remaining distinct in scale and approach. These large-scale, spectacle-driven experiences are developed collaboratively with Research Ireland and are inspired by the annual Science Week theme (for example, 2026- Water: From Molecule to Ocean).
This sponsorship route is particularly suited to event concepts that fall outside existing funding schemes but demonstrate strong potential for impact, visibility, and public engagement. We welcome early discussions with individuals and organisations who have bold and creative ideas for future Science Weeks.
Previous examples (see below) include Alf the Newt, BODY, and Museum of the Moon, showcasing the type of memorable, immersive events we are keen to support.
If you have an activity that you think may be suitable for sponsorship, please contact us at scienceweek@researchireland.ie.
